The Phantom Father was selected in the 15th Annual European Union Film Festival which took place in March in Chicago at the Gene Siskel Film Center, the most important local cinematographic art center.
The festival is the largest event dedicated to European film in North America. In 2012, all 27 EU member countries participate in the festival, with an impressive 65 premieres for Chicago alone. The festival seeks to present the widest possible range of recent productions, from the first projections of the new European talent elite to the most recent features of the well-established masters.
The Phantom Father is at its second visit in North America after its Montreal premiere in August 2011. The projections took place on March 23rd and 24th in the presence of the Gene Siskel Art Center's guests of honour, the director Lucian Georgescu and Barry Gifford, the Chicago born writer - eagerly awaited by the press and numerous public.

The Phantom Father is worldwide represented by Beverly Hills-based agent
House of Film. The movie had the Romanian premiere on March 2nd.
